LITTLE DRESSES FOR AFRICA! Hi Friends! You are invited to another Little Dresses for Africa sewing day at Peace Lutheran (near Dresser) from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 7th. You may come any time during those 4 hours, and have fun however you want. We need people to cut fabric, sew dresses, cut elastic, cut straps, sort dresses by small/medium/large, pack dress kits, and visit! Bring your machine if you want to sew. We have thread. We will serve our signature salad and frozen lasagna for lunch. Peace will be sending a mission trip to Zambia two week later. They will take as many dresses as they can squeeze in their suitcases. If you have finished dresses or dress kits at home, now would be a great time to whip them up and bring them in. We always have dress kits in the church foyer, or outside in the picnic cooler down the left sidewalk. It is a miracle how dresses fly from the cooler and return finished!!!! We thank all of you very, very much!!!! This has indeed turned into a community project. We don't even know who is sewing. May God bless you all! Hope to see you! ATTENTION, HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS! OUR MEN IN MISSION are offering a $1,000 scholarship for First Lutheran students with post high school education plans (2 or 4 year program)! Fill out an application listing areas of participation in high school activities, community service, employment history, leadership roles, and in 250 words or less, describe how being a member of First Lutheran has benefited you while performing community service. Application deadline is March 20, 2026.

WINTER CONCERTS: Saturday, Dec. 6, 7pm at the Unity School Auditorium in Balsam Lake. Sunday, Dec. 7, 7pm, at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, Center City, MN. Freewill offering.
SALVATION ARMY started the annual Red Kettle Campaign on November 14th, and we are asking members of our community to ring the bell for us. We have several convenient locations in Polk County. Registration is available online at https://www.registertoring.com/. Each shift is two hours long, and we do not ring the bell on Sunday. Here are the most important dates that we are trying to fill out first: December 19th and 20th. The money raised from this campaign is used for homelessness prevention, rent assistance and weekly food backpacks in Polk County. If you need any further information about this campaign, or help with registration contact Dessy Anderson (a Salvation Army Board member) at 715-410-0063.
